The Project
The project was an extension to the 07 Production Plant as well as internal refurbishment – including the provision of clean rooms to enable the production of two new API’s (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients). The project was in a live pharmaceutical plant, with the added complexity of the presence of dangerous substances such as hydrazine and hydrochloric acid. The new extension houses all of the plant’s dangerous substances and had to be built on poor ground – requiring diversion of existing services and improving the bearing capacity of the ground.
Careful planning with creative design solutions had to be provided – enabling this complex project to come to fruition, safely and effectively.
